The Sahara and Sahel Observatory, in collaboration with University of Cagliari (UNICA, Italy), and Eldoret (Kenya), organized the FLOWERED second Regional workshop at Hotel WaterBuck, on 24 th September 2018.The aim of this workshop was to pursuie the creation of an interactive and participatory dialogue to provide a precious feedback to the FLOWERED project activities and will allow to share and disseminate the information generated by the project and its intermediate results/outputs, during its two first years. it was an important occasion to raise public awareness on the de-Fluoridation activities carried out by the project.
The Opening session of the Conference was held in the presence of Dr Thomas Yatich (Délégation of the European Union to Kenya), Prof Wilson Ng'etich AG Vice Chancellor (UOE), Mr Saudi M. Kamau (Water quality & Pollution control Ministry of Water & sanitation, Kenya), Dr Fred Mango (Regional water Expert - IGAD), Mr Aggrey Maumo (Central Rift Conservation Area Kenya Wildlife Service), and Prof Linnet Gohole (Director of Research UOE).
The Conference gathered about 60 person, in which representatives of the 14 partners from six countries, as well as several stakeholders concerned by the Fluoride issue in the region.
