Mission in Tanzania - 13th to 17th February 2017

Research staff from UNICA, UB, NM-AIST and OEA involved in WP1 and WP4 participated to a mission in different sites of Tanzania, in the Arusha region, from 13 to 17 February 2017. The field trip enabled researchers to explore the geological features of King’Ori, Ngare Nanyuki and Oldonyo Sambu areas, up to the basement outcrops in Matawato hill. Moreover, during the mission the following activities were performed:

• Measurement in situ of chemical and chemical-physical parameter of groundwater from boreholes, wells and springs (WP1)
• Collection of water samples (WP1)
• Collection of crusts and patinas (WP1-WP4)
• Ground truth of the satellite data (WP4)
• Check of the Internet access available in the field (WP4) for crowd-based data sourcing
